No need enamel wire stripping any more – oxyhydrogen flame welding

August 23, 2018

The common questions or discussion among motor production engineers is how to remove the copper enamel coating from magnet wire during mass production. The traditional ways to remove enamel insulation coating are chemical enamel wire stripping and enamel wire stripping machine.

Strip enamel wires with chemicals is to wash and dissolve the wires . The chemical contains corrosive sodium hydroxide which dissolve glassware, aluminum and skin.It is the most danger work for magnet wire enamel stripping. Enamel wire stripping machine is relatively automatic, safe and fast method. But these two tripping methods are still time consuming and production efficiency reduction of electric motors.

Is there any solutions of welding enameled wires directly not to remove enamel paint?
Yes,of course. Oxyhydrogen flame welding is no need any enamel wire tripping and gas cylinders.

As we all know, oxyhydrogen flame is one of the highest temperature. Oxyhydrogen flame can melt enamel coating automatically and weld enameled wire to enameled wire quickly.
Oxyhydrogen flame is concentrated and precise. There is no heat radiation of other magnet wires. Oxyhydrogen brazing for copper wire joint is the higher quality and more smooth than oxy-acetylene welding.
What’s more, oxyhydrogen is green eco-friendly, non-carbon flame. There is no black carbon emission but only water vapor after flame combustion.

How does oxyhydrogen welding on enameled wire jointing?
You don’t need strip the enameled wire. Just wrap two strands of enameled wire together. When oxyhydrogen welding machine power on,you open the valve of the flame torch to fire and form blue oxyhydrogen flame for welding.
